I was out late on Monday 9/10/2010, didn't get home till about 6am. When I woke up at 8am to get ready for work, I was not only tire but hungover. At that time, I was working for Kinetic Records in the Meatpacking District right below 14th street.
I remembering listing to Star & Bucwild on HOT 97 and they were making jokes before anyone knew how serious it was. This was right before the 2nd plane hit.
Then Everything changed.
We would not be able to go back to work for the next 2 weeks because everything below 14th street was closed. For the next 2 or 3 months the World Trade Area would still be burning underneath the rubble and we could smell it from our office.
But the image that stands out from that time the most-
Every morning when I would get off the A train of 14th street, there would be an older woman asking everyone as they walked out of the station "If they saw her son, he worked in the WTC and sometimes took this station" while showing them a picture of her son.
She stayed at the station for a little under a year looking for her son.
Can't believe it has been 15 years.
